Keep going, baby baby
Read this if you need some encouragement :) Small (actually huge) moments that have kept me going on Substack
Hey,
This was originally meant to be a note but midway through I decided it was worth its own full ‘newsletter’ altogether (I’m still not sure how I want to refer to each send out I make on this publication - a ‘post’ does not feel right, ‘article’ doesn’t either, ‘essay’ is applicable only for some pieces, ‘newsletter’ is what substack is marketed as but doesn’t feel right either …. what do you guys call your posts / articles / essays / pieces?)
Anyways sorry so yeah this was meant to be a note but I decided it was worth its own full thing. In corporate we are told to keep a folder of ‘wins’ i.e. successes throughout your professional year you can pull out for performance reviews. I have an outlook folder titled ‘my clients love me <3’ and it’s full of just clients telling me they love me and when I have a bad day at work I eat cereal and read through it. (i have like 5 emails in there it’s not that massive m not that great)
I made a similar folder (in the iphone journal app) when I started writing on Substack. I think I knew it was going to be an up and down journey; I knew how much I would care about this little publication and what it has allowed me to do and therefore how important it was for me to not become overly discouraged by any minor setback.
It is called ‘keep going baby baby’, here are some moments I am most most grateful for, that still keep me going baby … baby.
When I published this piece on quiet luxury with <10 subscribers and Kristen chanced upon it and left a very kind comment :’)
When my breakup letter with Lululemon came out and it did exceptionally well (i think still my most read one) , and so many people commented or reached out to say they felt the same way; similarly when I explained the story of my young adulthood in clothes

Keep going !!!!
I came on here with absolutely zero mutuals / barely knew how to use the app, only having learned about it from
. I’m still developing it and getting an idea of where I want to take The Dandelion Tiger. It’s not perfect, but I’m so happy that I started and genuinely so grateful for every person I have connected with on the way.If you are just beginning or thinking about beginning or in the middle of beginning, I hope this will serve as your encouragement to keeping going baby … baby.
(and corporate baddies if you aren’t already - start that win folder)
